Band Interview Sleeper/Agent

At the end of January I had the opportunity to talk with three of the musicians in Sleeper/Agent. The band comes mostly from Bowling Green, Kentucky and this is the second time I’ve seen them open for someone. The first time was several years ago when they were the first opener for Fun. The band has come a long way and I’m really looking forward to their new album. (Due out March 25th) Over the last few years their sound has become so much tighter. It’s obvious in the way the band plays to each other and just the fullness of their sound that they really dug in to these new songs.

The interview began backstage at Terminal West in Atlanta with lead singer Alex Kandel and Scott Gardner, keyboard and synth player. We talked about how the band came together and were shortly joined by guitarist and vocalist Tony Smith. We touched on new bands they love, the things they hope people get out their shows, and why they make music. Check it out.
