Bandcamp supports transgender rights

In response to the discriminatory edict handed down by the current government administration regarding transgender people in the military, Bandcamp has decided to stand up in support of trans rights.

Bandcamp will be donating 100% of their share of every sale on Friday, August 4th (from midnight to midnight Pacific Time) to the Transgender Law Center. TLC is a nonprofit organization that works to change law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression. We envision a future where gender self-determination and authentic expression are seen as basic rights and matters of common human dignity.

Many artists are also donating proceeds to either the TLC or other groups that support trans communities, and there are many trans artists creating music on Bandcamp. More than 200 artists and labels are participating in this donation drive; check it out and buy some music. Support trans rights and indie musicians.

To celebrate, here is a recent performance by Against Me! featuring Mina Caputo.
