I recently just discovered Brian Tiernan’s (Wayne Storm) amazing musical talent for myself as I attended a rehearsal for his band. My first impression of Brian was that he has a gift. He plays a mean guitar (often behind his head) and his voice cut through with influences of Jim Morrison, John Lennon and even modern day vocalists like Julian Casablancas of The Strokes.
Brian asked me if I liked Paul McCartney, and my response was “of course but I think doing a song with Kanye West was the worst career mistake of his life”. We joked about how Kanye fans believed that he would help launch McCartney into stardom. Brian explained that Paul McCartney was the reason he is a musician. He then proceeded to sit behind his keyboard and belt out a Wings song. His hands ran up and down all 88 keys and when he ran out of fingers he lifted his right foot to the keyboard and played with his foot. At one point during the rehearsal I grabbed a microphone and began to freestyle, Brian got on his mic and together we created our own version of Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name.”
Brian Tiernan is not the only one in the family with musical talent, his brother Pat Tiernan also made a name for himself on the scene. An amazing talent that was lost before his time. Pat passed in 2012 but his music lives on through his brother.
The song that Brian performed in the cemetery in the attached video was written by Pat Tiernan and is entitled “Wipe Your Tears”. HERE is a link to the original version via Reverb Nation.
