Last Thursday was the first time I ever saw The Slackers perform live and I’ve got to say, I knew I would be impressed but that’s an understatement; I was blown away. In my line of work I am fortunate enough to attend more shows than the average concert-goer and I don’t say this to make you jealous; I bring this to your attention because when I say The Slackers are one of the best shows you will ever see, it’s the truth. It’s been nearly 26 years that the band has been together and these guys just look like they are still having the best time of their lives up on that stage. I mean I could go on and on about how amazing they are but unless you catch The Slackers on tour yourself, there aren’t many words that could give their performance the justice they deserve.
Vic Ruggiero is the lead vocalist and keyboardist of The Slackers, he’s known to pick up a guitar and a variety of other instruments as well. I was blessed to have the opportunity to catch a few minutes with the man himself to discuss music, books and the arts. Check out the interview below!
