If you are unfamiliar with the character Owen Meany, trust me you would never want his batting stance and even more importantly you do not want to be nearby when he hits a foul ball. With that being said, the self-titled record by: Owen Meany’s Batting Stance is an out of the park home-run on so many levels. This 6 track debut is a testimony to to fact that great lyricists really do still exist. I am a song-writer myself and I’ve realized on numerous occasions that some of the most recognizable and beloved songs of our time have poorly written lyrics, fortunately this is not the case with this album.
I will be upfront, I absolutely detest album reviews, especially writing them because who the hell am I to say it’s great or it sucks? I receive so many submissions for review and I sympathize for some of these artists; they finally put themselves out there, only to be crushed by a clumsily bias rating system or even worse convinced that their album is the next Dark Side Of The Moon, when it’s not. My opinion is that Daniel Walker is a brilliantly talented songwriter/musician and if you value my opinion then you’ll understand that this is not a “review” as much as it is a strong recommendation that you should consider Owen Meany’s Batting Stance as your next addition to your music collection.
